Job Summary

Thalle Construction Co. Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a TelehandlerOperator on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County Florida. This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville Districts history valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration aiming to enhance ecosystem health improve water storage and increase resilience to climate change.

Job Title: TelehandlerOperator

Pay:Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a telehandler (telescopic handler) to safely lift transport and place materials at varying heights and distances in support of jobsite operations.
  • Utilize forks and approved attachments to move materials such as pipe pallets forms tools and construction supplies.
  • Assist with staging materials loading and unloading deliveries and supporting multiple crews as directed by site supervision.
  • Perform operations in tight or congested areas while maintaining awareness of personnel equipment and surroundings.
  • Follow all company safety policies including taking specific action to avoid other workers equipment and potential obstructions.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines load charts and site-specific lift plans.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervision.
  • Ensure telehandler attachments are properly secured and used only for their intended purpose.
  • Maintain organized material laydown areas and contribute to overall jobsite housekeeping.
  • Be capable and willing to perform general manual labor when not actively operating equipment.
  • Communicate clearly with spotters riggers and crew members during lifting and placement activities.
  • Conduct all work with 100% integrity professionalism and commitment to safety.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 23 years of experience operating telehandlers or similar material-handling equipment on construction job sites preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience safely handling loads at varying heights and distances.
  • Must be authorized and qualified to operate a telehandler in accordance with company and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand load charts lift plans and manufacturer operating manuals.
  • Ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and field personnel.
  • Strong commitment to contributing to a culture of safety teamwork and operational excellence.

Physical Requirements:

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole bodysuch as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materials.
  • Work long shifts with non-standard break times.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination quick reaction times.
  • Able to work in confined or enclosed spaces.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to wear a hard hat safety glasses gloves and safety-toed boots.
  • Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more)
  • Able to Enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground.
  • Able to sit in the operators seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals switches levers buttons etc. required to safely operate theequipment (if authorized for that piece of equipment)
  • Capable of sitting in the operators seat of equipment and have an adequate field of vision of all instruments gauges warning lights aswell as an acceptable field of vision out of the windows and/or mirrors (if authorized for that piece of equipment)
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and localstandards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards
  • Must be able to talk listen and speak clearly on telephone
