Organizational Setting
The Information Technology Division (CIO) is responsible for all IT activities within the Organization. CIO performs on behalf of the Organization the following critical roles: defining FAO IT policies and providing strategic advice on IT architecture and standards governance policy and operational matters while monitoring organizational compliance; defining the mechanisms for managing FAOs information and data; protecting FAOs information assets and ensuring confidentiality integrity and availability; ensuring provision of IT services that are core for the Organizations global operations and supporting the information and business processes; coordinating organization-wide IT activities in order to reduce duplication and fragmentation and to increase integration of information data systems and platforms mobilizing IT resources from across the Organization.
The role sits within the Enterprise Architecture Office under the IT Strategy and Governance stream supporting the definition of target architectures roadmaps and technical standards. The Office guides solution design conducts architecture impact assessments provides design authority oversight and advises on strategies across business data application and technology domains. The position also contributes to governance forums IT Risk management supports cloud risk assessment processes and helps ensure architectural alignment across major initiatives.
Reporting Lines
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Information Technology Officer the consultant will act as Enterprise Architecture and Digital Governance Specialist within the IT Division performing the following functions.
Technical Focus
Assist in applying architecture governance compliance requirements and basic risk management practices to help ensure technology decisions align with enterprise standards.
Tasks and responsibilities
Support core services provided by EA Office: triage of requested IT solutions high level solution design cloud computing risk assessment etc.
Maintain enterprise IT Risk Register and monitor compliance.
Contribute to the creation review and maintenance of IT governance policy documents ensuring they align with enterprise architecture standards and regulatory expectations.
Participate in IT governance forums.
Maintain and enhance FAO Digital Capability Repository (EA Knowledge Base /Application Landscape).
Perform business analysis and business architecture modelling.
Create and update principles patterns reference architectures and documentation
Provide architectural assessments for specific IT initiatives and projects.
Perform any other Enterprise Architecture and IT Governance activities as required.

Minimum Requirements
Advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in Computer Science Information systems Information Technology Software Engineering Cybersecurity Systems Engineering or closely related discipline. Consultants with a bachelors degree need two additional years of relevant professional experience.
5 years of relevant working experience in enterprise architecture or specific architectural domain.
Full proficiency/Working knowledge of English.

Selection Criteria
Proven experience in IT governance compliance and risk management practices
Hands on experience with solution application data or infrastructure architecture
Proven ability to develop and maintain target architectures and roadmaps
Experience documenting standards principles and architecture artefacts.
Extent and relevance of experience of supporting design authority or architecture governance forums
Valid certification in: Enterprise Architecture IT Governance IT Risk Management or ITSM
Valid certification in at least one of the following areas: TOGAG 9 ITIL COBIT 2019 CGEIT
Knowledge of one of the other FAO official languages is an asset.
