Job Summary:
The Chief of Financial Audit Unit is responsible for leading and overseeing financial audit activities of our MFI. The role ensures effective internal controls sound financial risk management good governance and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This position provides independent assurance and supports management in protecting the MFIs financial integrity.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct financial audits at head office and branch levels according to the approved audit plan.
- Review and evaluate financial controls risk management and governance processes and recommend improvements.
- Identify and report financial risks control gaps non-compliance and potential fraud.
- Perform audits on cash management operational expenses assets equipment and materials.
- Ensure proper audit documentation working papers and evidence are maintained.
- Monitor compliance with policies procedures and management instructions and follow up corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit audit reports to Internal Audit Management.
- Support audit planning and assist in improving audit methodologies and processes.
- Guide and support junior audit staff if assigned.
- Escalate significant findings or irregularities promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Internal Audit.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Auditing or related field.
- Minimum 23 years of experience in financial audit internal audit or accounting preferably within MFI banking or financial services.
- Basic understanding of internal controls audit procedures and financial risk management.
- Experience or exposure to auditing cash expenses assets and operational processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for financial institutions is an advantage.
- Strong analytical reporting and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity professionalism and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills in Khmer and English.
