Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant will support the organization with administrative responsibilities. The Assistant will perform basic bookkeeping and clerical work. The Administrative Assistant will manage business related tasks such as organizing inventory purchase requests preparation data entry digital filing and other organizational tasks. This position may also be tasked with other duties as assigned by Directors.
Summary Specific to Job:
- Assists the Executive Assistant with new hire onboarding coordination.
- Primary individual responsible for supply and inventory tracking and ordering.
- Prepares purchase request packets for management approval.
- Assist Chief Operating Officer with basic bookkeeping.
- Assist Chief Operating Officer with data reporting and monthly billing.
- Assists the Executive Assistant with formatting duplicating and distributing reports and other organizational information.
- Occasional driving required including using a company vehicle to pick up supplies as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Experience with Adobe.
- Hold a valid Texas Driver License (required).
- Valid American Heart Association CPR certification required within 6 months of hire date.

- Communicate well both oral and written.

Compensation: $18.54 - $22.00 per hour

The Sobering Center Contributes to a Safe Community
Founded in 2018 the Sobering Center was built with the intent of providing the community with a safe place to recover from intoxication in lieu of the jail or the emergency room and to then be referred to community based resources as needed. Today we have provided this service to over 7000 individuals and continue to evolve our services to meet the needs of our community. Our clients reflect the Austin/Travis County community in that we are regularly providing sobering services and brief interventions for college students festival goers partakers of downtown entertainment and the chronically homeless. All are welcome and our staff will work to individualize the intervention.
Our Impact
Substance use disorder (SUD) and alcohol use disorder are the leading causes of preventable illness and early death. About 21 million Americans have at least one addiction yet only 10% of them receive treatment. The Sobering Center provides counseling to those who identify or meet the criteria for SUD. The misuse of alcohol or other drugs could lead to personal consequences due to increased risky behaviors and ultimately lead to entry into the criminal justice or medical systems. Our organization provides the essential service of diverting publicly intoxicated individuals from such systems and provides direct intervention to assist that 90% in getting the help they need.
