KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Manager Programs and under the direct supervision of the Aquatic Program Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for supporting the Aquatic Program Supervisor with the day-to-day operation of aquatic programs. They are primarily responsible for shift supervision of programs and staff. This includes daily staff scheduling sick coverage and quality control of all aquatic recreational activities and programs.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all on-deck activities to ensure the highest level of safety and customer service. The work includes instructing programs guarding employee training and providing direction to on-duty staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a minimum of 2 years of aquatic experience and Intermediate First Aid & CPR/AED Level C.
Also required are the following Aquatic certifications:
- National Lifeguard Certification
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
- Lifesaving Instructor
- Pool Operators Level 1
- Aquafit Certification
- One of the following advanced leadership certifications: NL Instructor Lifesaving Instructor trainer or Standard First Aid Instructor.
The incumbent must be able to work a variety of shifts including days evenings and weekends.
SALARY
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $95397 as well as a comprehensive benefits package including monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totalling $450 and a defined benefit pension plan.
