About the role

  • Deliver expert-level speech pathology services for complex ENT and Head & Neck cancer patients including swallowing and communication disorders.
  • Work closely with the ENT multidisciplinary team to support coordinated high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Practice as an advanced clinician using specialist skills such as Video Fluoroscopy (VFSS) FEES tracheostomy and laryngectomy management.
  • Provide clinical leadership mentoring and consultancy to staff across the service and regional network.
  • Lead and contribute to service development research and quality improvement initiatives to drive innovation and best practice.

About you

  • Bachelor or post-graduate degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligibility for full practicing membership of the Speech Pathology Australia Association.
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and advanced clinical expertise in the management of adult dysphagia and communication disorders within the Head and Neck cancer population including evidenced-based laryngectomy and tracheostomy care.
  • Proven capability in coordinating and providing clinical supervision mentoring junior staff and supporting safe consistent service delivery.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills effectively managing conflicts and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of quality improvement activities that have led to improvements in clinical practice and patient outcomes.
