2026 Thompson Engineering Summer Collegiate Internship Program
Program Overview
The 2026 Thompson Engineering Summer Collegiate Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain meaningful practical experience across a variety of disciplines. Interns work alongside experienced professionals on active projects gaining exposure to both office-based and field-based work depending on their area of interest.
Internship opportunities are available in the following focus areas:
Civil Engineering
Environmental Engineering & Sciences
Transportation Engineering
Architectural & Building Sciences
Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI)
Field Services & Materials Testing
Program & Project Management
What Youll Do
Responsibilities will vary by discipline and assignment but may include:
Assisting with engineering design analysis and technical documentation
Supporting field inspections data collection sampling and testing activities
Assisting with construction observation CEI reporting and quality control documentation
Preparing reports plans exhibits and project deliverables
Supporting project managers with scheduling coordination and administrative tasks
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on real client projects
Learning industry standards safety practices and regulatory requirements

Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering Transportation Architecture Construction Management Engineering Technology or a related field
Completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework by Summer 2026 (preferred)
Strong communication organizational and teamwork skills
Willingness to work in both office and field environments as applicable
Valid drivers license (for field-based positions)
