We are seeking a confident enthusiastic and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cambridge starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Upper Key Stage 2 and enjoys delivering engaging lessons that challenge inspire and prepare pupils for the transition to secondary school.

The Role
As a Year 6 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across all areas of the curriculum. You will foster resilience independence and positive learning behaviours while supporting pupils academically socially and emotionally. A key part of your role will involve preparing pupils for statutory assessments (SATs) and ensuring they are confident and ready for secondary education.
You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants Key Stage 2 colleagues and senior leaders to maintain high standards across the year group. Communication with parents and carers is essential to support pupil learning and development and to foster strong homeschool partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
Prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school transition
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners
Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured inclusive and positive classroom environment
Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school-wide initiatives
Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 6
Be confident delivering literacy numeracy and foundation subjects
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and professional team
