We are seeking a passionate committed and experienced Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Brentwood starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Key Stage 1 and wants to help pupils consolidate their learning while fostering a love of literacy numeracy and wider curriculum subjects.

The Role
As a Year 2 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across the curriculum tracking pupil progress and providing targeted interventions as needed. You will foster independence resilience and confidence in your pupils ensuring they are well prepared for the transition to Year 3.
You will work closely with teaching assistants phase leaders and colleagues across the school to maintain consistency and high standards. Communicating effectively with parents and carers will also be an important part of the role supporting pupils learning both in school and at home.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum
Track pupil progress and use assessment to inform planning
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners
Maintain a structured positive and inclusive classroom environment
Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours
Collaborate with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 1 ideally Year 2
Be confident delivering literacy numeracy and foundation subjects
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will receive mentoring and support.
