Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant will include:
Providing consistent individualised support to pupils with SEN
Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons
Working alongside the class teacher to adapt learning materials
Implementing strategies from EHCPs and SEN support plans
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
Encouraging positive social interaction and communication
Supporting transitions between lessons and activities
Assisting during break times and lunchtimes when required
Recording observations and sharing progress updates with teachers and SEN staff
Supporting personal care needs where required always with dignity and respect
Helping to maintain a calm safe and inclusive learning environment
You will be expected to promote independence while ensuring pupils feel supported and secure.

Emotionally resilient and able to manage challenging situations
Passionate about inclusive education and SEN support
Confident working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
A strong communicator and effective team player

Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable whether in a school care or support setting. However candidates with transferable skills and a strong commitment to SEN are also encouraged to apply.
