We are seeking a compassionate experienced and highly motivated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Tooting starting as soon as possible. As an SEN Teacher you will plan and deliver tailored lessons and interventions designed to meet pupils individual needs. You will work closely with teaching assistants the SENCo parents and external professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support. You will play a vital role in helping pupils develop confidence independence and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons for pupils with SEN
Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised targets
Provide differentiated teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions
Promote independence resilience and positive behaviour
Maintain a structured safe and inclusive learning environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants SENCo and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents carers and external professionals
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching pupils with SEND in a primary or specialist setting
Be patient empathetic and adaptable
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and solution-focused
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
