We are seeking a dedicated enthusiastic and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Notting Hill starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 1 education and committed to supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into more structured learning.

As a Year 1 Teacher you will be responsible for planning delivering and assessing high-quality lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will play a key role in supporting pupils early literacy numeracy and phonics development while fostering independence confidence and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum
Deliver high-quality phonics literacy numeracy and foundation subject teaching
Support pupils transitioning from EYFS into Key Stage 1
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL
Promote independence resilience and positive behaviour
Maintain a structured inclusive and positive classroom environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues
Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 ideally Year 1
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be nurturing enthusiastic and adaptable
Show a strong understanding of early primary teaching and learning
Be reflective and committed to professional development
Have a clear commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
