About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the day-to-day scheduling coordination and quality control of all vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure Mooves fleet is safe compliant cost-effective and returned to operation as quickly as possible. The role manages suppliers/workshops supports the insurance and claims process handles customer escalations and drives continuous improvement in maintenance processes.
What Youll be Doing
Fleet Maintenance Operations
Coordinate schedule and monitor all vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Prioritise and assign work to internal teams and external workshops.
Ensure all work meets OEM safety and company standards.
Control and verify repairs (parts and labour) against the maintenance fund and budget.
Conduct regular vehicle and facility inspections and drive corrective actions.
Plan repair activities assign schedules and review cost estimates.
Oversee stock (parts consumables tools) and place orders as needed.
Coordinate and support on road support staff for breakdowns and incidents.
Supplier Insurance & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers repair outlets and workshops.
Manage maintenance authorisations to ensure appropriate work at optimised cost.
Coordinate the insurance process (claims documentation surveyors workshops).
Ensure claims are finalised quickly and vehicles return to operation within agreed TAT.
Handle customer and internal escalations on maintenance and repairs and resolve promptly.
Reporting Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
Track maintenance expenses and support management of the maintenance budget.
Report on maintenance repair and service costs versus the maintenance fund.
Maintain daily progress reports maintenance logs and claim status updates.
Support projections for servicing and repairs (e.g. tyres suspension body electrical batteries).
Analyse maintenance data identify trends/issues and drive corrective actions.
Lead and support process and system improvements and ad hoc investigations.
What You will need for this position
57 years fleet maintenance experience including 23 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Technical qualification in Motor Mechanics or related field preferred (e.g. Trade Test / Diploma).
Hands-on fleet/automotive industry experience is essential.
Strong understanding of OEM service and repair standards.
Strong customer service communication and organisational skills.
Valid drivers licence preferred.
Willingness to complete analytical/technical assessments as part of the selection process.
Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Google Workspace and web-based maintenance/fleet systems.
Key Metrics
Manage vehicle servicing and repairs within OEM and company standards.
Plan and execute time-bound fleet inspections with clear reporting.
Review and validate repair estimates (tyres suspension body electrical battery).
Interpret maintenance and cost data and drive team-based issue resolution.
Close repair complaints and customer issues timeously.
Manage on-road support teams and workshop activities to minimise downtime and TAT.
Make sound decisions on insurance vs self-funded repairs and support claim documentation.
Coordinate and communicate daily with workshops and surveyors on repair and claim status.
Maintain disciplined documentation daily reporting and accurate maintenance logs.
Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency cost and fleet uptime.
