Job Summary

Job Title: Lead Engineer Custom Applications and Integration

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Engineer Custom Applications and Integration to lead the design development integration and ongoing support of custom-built applications while ensuring seamless connectivity with enterprise systems. This role is critical to advancing digital transformation initiatives by delivering scalable secure and high-performing solutions aligned with business needs.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation proven leadership experience and the ability to navigate complex system integrations while collaborating across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of custom application developers and integration specialists fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
Assign tasks set priorities and monitor team performance to ensure timely high-quality delivery
Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Oversee the full lifecycle of custom application development including design development testing deployment and maintenance
Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Architect scalable secure and maintainable applications using appropriate technologies and frameworks
Ensure adherence to coding standards best practices and architectural guidelines
Manage code repositories version control and deployment processes
Develop and execute integration strategies connecting custom applications with enterprise systems such as ERP CRM data warehouses and third-party APIs
Design and implement integration solutions using API platforms ETL tools messaging queues and ESBs
Ensure data integrity security and performance across integrated systems
Monitor and troubleshoot application and integration issues driving timely resolution
Provide technical leadership and guidance on development and integration tools technologies and methodologies
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends recommending innovative solutions where applicable
Participate in architectural reviews and contribute to technology decision-making
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business units infrastructure and security teams
Provide regular project status updates and manage stakeholder expectations
Participate in project planning estimation and delivery timelines
Establish and maintain technical documentation for applications integrations and APIs
Define and enforce development and integration standards and best practices

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field; Masters degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in custom application development and system integration
At least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership or lead engineer role
2 to 5 years of experience with SAP BTP integrations and application development including SAP CAP SAP Fiori and SAP Integration Suite
Proven experience developing and deploying applications using languages and frameworks such as Java and modern JavaScript frameworks
Strong understanding of integration patterns and technologies including RESTful APIs SOAP message queues ETL and API gateways
Solid experience with database technologies both SQL and NoSQL
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure preferred
Strong problem-solving analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in Agile development environments
At least 5 years of experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
