Job Description
Role Overview
The Entry Level IT Risk Analyst supports the IT Risk and Information Security teams by assisting with the identification documentation and tracking of technology and cybersecurity risks. This role is designed for individuals early in their career who are looking to build foundational experience in IT risk management compliance and security governance while working under the guidance of senior analysts and leadership.
Risk Assessment Support
- Assist senior team members with IT and cybersecurity risk assessments for systems applications and vendors
- Help document identified risks impacted controls and remediation actions in the risk register
- Track remediation activities and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely updates
- Help prepare basic risk summaries and reports for review by senior analysts
- Support internal external and customer audit activities by gathering evidence and maintaining documentation
- Assist with compliance efforts aligned to common frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST under supervision
- Assist with vendor risk assessments by collecting information reviewing questionnaires and documenting results
- Participate in training and on the job learning to develop IT risk and cybersecurity knowledge
- Help maintain records related to vendor risk assessments and reviews
- Work closely with IT Security and Business teams to understand technology risks and controls
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 0 2 years of experience in IT cybersecurity risk audit or a related technical field
- Basic understanding of information security concepts and IT systems
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with risk or security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST (academic exposure acceptable)
- Internship or coursework related to IT security audit or compliance
- Interest in pursuing security or risk certifications in the future
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to follow documented processes and procedures
- Comfortable working with guidance and feedback in a team environment
