Senior Tax Lawyer
About the Role:
An opportunity is available for a Senior Tax Lawyer to join a highly regarded Tax and Tax Disputes team within a well-established Commercial and Private Client practice. This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys technically complex work values practical problem-solving and wants to play a meaningful role in advising clients across a wide spectrum of tax and revenue matters.
You will work closely with experienced partners and senior practitioners gaining exposure to sophisticated advisory and dispute work while also being trusted with autonomy and client-facing responsibility. The role offers genuine scope for career progression leadership development and long-term growth within a supportive high-performing environment.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role you will advise and act for clients across a broad range of tax matters including:
- Advising on GST tax and state revenue issues
- Objecting to Australian Tax Office and Queensland Revenue Office assessments including tax and penalties
- Assisting clients in responding to ATO and QRO reviews audits and investigations
- Managing and progressing appeals before the AAT QCAT Federal Court and Supreme Court
- Preparing direct and indirect tax sharing agreements
- Drafting and advising on employee share schemes facility agreements and service entity arrangements
- Supporting commercial transactions by preparing and reviewing documents such as share sale agreements company constitutions and trust deeds
- Assisting with mentoring and guiding junior team members as appropriate

What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years post-admission experience with prior exposure to tax law
- Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality accurate work
- A genuine interest in tax law and tax disputes
- Commitment to delivering outstanding client service
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Willingness and capability to support and guide junior team members
- Interest in developing and strengthening long-term client relationships
