Job Summary

JOB TITLE: Design Engineer
LOCATION: Orlando FL (Telework < 50%)
PAY RATE: $65.38/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Job Type: Contract (Up to 6 months with potential for extension)
Schedule: 4/10 1st Shift (Every Friday off)
Clearance: Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance (not required to start)

Summary:

Develop detailed mechanical layouts for CCA boards using PTC Creo and Windchill
Select connectors and ensure fit clearance and tolerance compliance
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support DFM/DFA reviews
Define and oversee test plans and manage board integration with enclosures
Design cable and harness assemblies (experience with Zuken is a strong plus)
Manage documentation and Bill of Materials (BOM) for assemblies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical electrical systems reliability and manufacturing
Ensure designs meet aerospace/defense product requirements and IPC standards

Requirements:

Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance (not required to start)
Bachelors degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with CCA board mechanical design connector selection and manufacturing support
Minimum 5 years of experience using Creo and Windchill
Minimum 5 years of experience with Zuken IPC standards and aerospace/defense product cycles
Strong problem-solving communication and project management skills
Ability to produce high-quality design documentation and guide test and integration activities
CCA board layout and design experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
