Schedule: Initial Training Period (First 4 6 Weeks). 12-hour rotating shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM). After training Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.

Position Summary

Tekberry is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Equipment Qualification Technician (Quality Technician III) to support the addition of new equipment and modifications to existing highly complex manufacturing equipment. This role is critical to ensuring equipment operates reliably meets customer requirements and complies with internal quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

This is a floor-based manufacturing-facing role requiring strong hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting production equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working full-time on the production floor and collaborating closely with operators engineers technicians and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Qualification & Validation

  • Perform Installation Qualification (IQ) Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ) for new and existing manufacturing equipment.
  • Validate that equipment can consistently run products correctly and meet customer and process requirements.
  • Ensure equipment qualification activities align with internal quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Document qualification results deviations and corrective actions thoroughly and accurately.
  • Support changes and upgrades to existing equipment through re-qualification efforts.

Hands-On Equipment Support & Troubleshooting

  • Work directly on complex production equipment during installation setup testing and qualification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and mechanical issues with newly installed or modified equipment.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA DMAIC Fishbone Diagrams DOE Six Sigma tools and Hypothesis Trees.

Testing Calibration & Documentation

  • Conduct equipment testing and calibration to ensure proper performance and repeatability.
  • Maintain accurate audit-ready documentation related to qualifications testing and calibration activities.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing qualification activities outcomes and compliance status.

Training Collaboration & Support

  • Work alongside trained operators to learn equipment setup and operation.
  • Provide hands-on training and technical guidance to operators and other staff using qualified equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with:
    • Floor operators
    • Engineering teams
    • Technicians
    • Quality and manufacturing leadership
  • Support audits and inspections as needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment qualification and validation processes.
  • Recommend and implement best practices to improve efficiency reliability and compliance.
  • Stay current on evolving industry standards and regulatory expectations.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience (required).
    • Candidates without manufacturing experience will not be considered.
  • Proven experience operating troubleshooting repairing or maintaining production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working full-time on the production floor in a hands-on role.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with equipment qualification or validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) is a strong plus.
  • Ability to work with complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and calibration equipment.
  • Exposure to regulatory or quality systems (ISO GMP OSHA etc.) preferred but not required.

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering Science or a related technical field preferred.
  • Associate s degree or 2-year technical degree acceptable.
  • Education may be offset by strong relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Candidates with a high school diploma and strong manufacturing background may be considered if they have some exposure to qualification or validation activities.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • Adaptable proactive and comfortable in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Candidates must be fully aware of and comfortable with the extended training shifts.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • 100% onsite manufacturing environment (may include lab or cleanroom areas).
  • Hands-on operation of production equipment.
  • Standing for extended periods and handling equipment as needed.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
