Job Summary
FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - PACKAGING EQUIPMENT
Position Type: Long-term contract with possibility of permanent conversion
Travel: 90%
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician with experience in packaging machinery to provide installation maintenance troubleshooting and training at customer locations throughout Northeast Region. This role requires 90% travel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years field technician experience
- Experience with packing machines (Valve Baggers Inline FFS VFFS machinery)
Technical Skills:
- Advanced PLC knowledge
- Allen Bradley: Studio 5000 and Panel View
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical knowledge
- Industrial equipment experience
- Ability to read/interpret electrical documentation and plant drawings
Requirements:
- Valid passport or ability to obtain
- Valid drivers license with clear record
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Technical degree OR equivalent experience/apprenticeship
- Proficient English communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Siemens Tia Portal experience
- SAP experience
- TWIC Card and OSHA 10
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install repair and maintain packaging equipment at customer facilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
- Conduct customer training and on-site technical support
- Complete service reports and documentation
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Travel 90% with extended commissioning assignments
