About the Role
Ready to lead the charge in defining the Universitys visual and verbal identity As our Creative Director youll be the driving force behind our brands narrative ensuring it resonates powerfully across all platforms. Imagine crafting compelling stories that not only capture the essence of the University but also drive enrollment enhance our reputation and foster deeper engagement. Compensation & Key Role Information:
- Estimated Salary Range: $130k-$180k/year (will be hourly first before FTE conversion)
- Contract Duration: Temp to perm (initial 30-90 day contract period)
- Location: In-office (Texas); local candidates to Abilene TX will be prioritized!
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours
What Youll Do
As the universitys chief creative leader you will:
- Shape the Vision: Define and evolve the Universitys creative vision in partnership with the VP for Marketing translating institutional priorities into emotionally resonant creative concepts.
- Lead and Inspire: Oversee the creative direction of all marketing and communications materials including digital advertising video photography social media publications and environmental design.
- Build and Mentor: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary creative team (Videographer Photographer Graphic Designers Copywriter) fostering a culture of excellence collaboration and continuous learning.
- Drive Strategy & Execution: Oversee the concepting and production of major campaigns ensuring creative output is audience-centered insight-driven and aligned with enrollment and institutional goals.
- Collaborate Across Campus: Work collaboratively with university partners to ensure consistent strategic brand expression across all materials and provide creative consultation on major initiatives.
Qualifications :
What Youll Bring
- 10 years of progressive creative experience in marketing advertising or brand leadership ideally including higher education or mission-driven organizations.
- A proven record of leading creative teams and delivering brand-defining campaigns across media platforms.
- Deep expertise in visual design storytelling and integrated campaign development.
- A strong understanding of brand strategy and its translation into creative execution.
- Exceptional leadership collaboration and communication skills with the ability to inspire creative teams and influence senior leaders.
- Mastery of creative tools and workflows (Adobe Creative Suite Asana or similar project tools DAM systems).
- Bachelors degree in design communications marketing or a related field required; Masters preferred.
