SALARY RANGE (Depending on Experience): $89434.80- $130958.10 annually
We base salary and position offers on experience and an internal equity analysis.

Healthcare/Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Practice Group
The Healthcare and Home and Community-Based Services Practice Group (Health PG) focuses on improving access to healthcare and home and community-based services through Medi-Cal (Californias Medicaid Program). We work to ensure people with disabilities have access to essential health care services and a full range of community-based long-term services and supports necessary to allow community living and avoid institutionalization consistent with the principles of the Supreme Courts Olmstead decision. The Health PG works to achieve this goal through a combination of direct representation policy advocacy and impact litigation.
Areas of particular focus for the Health PG include access to healthcare and HCBS Services through Medi-Cal including In-Home Supportive Services and Medi-Cal Waivers enforcement of EPSDT protections for children and young adults under 21 and access to services including private duty nursing and durable medical equipment though the California Childrens Services (CCS) program. We also focus on Olmstead litigation and advocacy.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Healthcare/HCBS Practice Group seeks a Senior Attorney who will lead Policy and Legislative Advocacy for the group. The Senior Attorney-Policy will be a member of the DRCs Legal Advocacy Unit Policy Attorney Team and will work closely with our Public Policy Unit. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in policy and legislative advocacy and should also possess in-depth knowledge of Californias Medi-Cal program.

The Senior Attorneys core responsibilities will be to:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May directly supervise one or more attorneys or advocacy staff on the Health PG and shall carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agencys policies and applicable laws. Supervisors interview hire and train employees; plan assign and direct work; regularly evaluate performance and provide ongoing feedback; work with HR to take correction actions when needed; address complaints and resolve problems.
SENIOR ATTORNEY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a Juris Doctor degree plus seven years of experience practicing law. Additional minimum qualifications include:
