  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $149K pa to $173K pa super & leave loading

The opportunity

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) website is one of the most visited NSW government websites. A complex site it communicates information about visiting national parks and conservation alongside e-commerce and B2B functions.

NPWS is embarking on a major website and app renewal program to modernise our public facing digital experience and the technology that supports it. You will lead a complex multiyear program that spans strategy options analysis procurement and deliveryworking closely with Park Operations Digital IT and Corporate Affairs to uplift the customer experience across the NPWS website and app.

What youll do:

As Principal Project Manager you will:

  • Lead end-to-end program planning and delivery for the website and app renewalfrom discovery and options analysis through procurement and implementationensuring scope time quality and benefits are realised.
  • Establish robust governance risk and benefits frameworks; oversee integrated schedules budget controls and stage gates.
  • Coordinate internal SMEs across Park Operations Digital Content Architecture Cyber and Infrastructure; champion customer centred design and accessibility.
  • Lead structured vendor engagement and contract management in line with NSW Government procurement policies and systems.
  • Translate research and options analysis into a clear costed strategy and implementation roadmap brief executives and steer decision forums.

About you:

You are a seasoned program/project leader who can set direction bring people with you and deliver measurable outcomes in a complex stakeholder rich environment. Specifically you will demonstrate:

  • Deep experience delivering digital transformation initiativesideally website and CMS/platform renewals or migrationsusing Agile or hybrid methods.
  • Proven track record leading options analysis and business casing and converting insights into executable roadmaps.
  • Strong vendor management and government procurement experience (RFTs evaluation onboarding performance).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement across technical and nontechnical groups; clear concise executive communication.
  • Commitment to customer centred design accessibility and inclusive services.

Ideally were looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in project/program management information systems or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex digital programs in large organisations including governance budget risk and benefits management.
  • Experience working within NSW Government (or comparable public sector) frameworks and procurement processes.

Familiarity with contemporary web/CMS platforms and patterns exposure to Sitecore or comparable enterprise CMS and relevant certifications (e.g. PRINCE2 MSP Agile Prosci) would also be ideal.
