Maintenance Trades Specialist III HVAC

Shift schedule is 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday. With on call rotation.

Position: Maintenance Trades Specialist III - HVAC Tech.

Location: Atrium Health - Carolinas Medical Center; 1000 Blythe Blvd. Charlotte NC.

Full Time; 1st Shift

Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm. On-call rotation.

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs preventive maintenance and technical repairs on complex facility systems.
• Diagnoses and implements repairs for Utility and Infrastructure Systems.
• Installs/replace and maintains building Mechanical Electrical Plumbing and controls systems.
• Operates and monitors advanced utility equipment (generators plant chillers steam boilers fire protection systems etc.) and utilizes building automation systems to troubleshoot issues.
• Maintains vacuum compressed air and medical gas systems
• Reads blueprints Life Safety drawings and manuals for accurate task completion.

Licensure Registration and/or Certification Required:

• Valid Drivers License. Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain.

Education Required:

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training.

Experience Required:

• 4 or more Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required:

• Ability to work with minimal oversight with advanced technical skills in facility maintenance.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills required.
• Advanced computer skills/competency required in using and operating systems such as Microsoft Office Platform Building Automation Systems Pneumatic Tube Systems.
• Clear understanding of applicable compliance codes and guidelines.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Works required shifts and participates in on-call duty to provide 24/7 coverage.
• Must be able to sit stand walk lift squat bend crawl reach above shoulders and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
• Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Community College/Trade school degree
• Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain.
• 7 Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
