SUMMARY
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit exists to build a more equitable and compassionate world through meaningful personal relationships providing whatever is needed to help our neighbors get back on their feet and on a path towards self-sustainability. Our programs provide support ranging from utility housing and food assistance to education and mentorship. We also operate a network of thrift stores two camps and a nutritional center. We are passionate about driving systemic change and helping our neighbors in Metro-Detroit break out of poverty.
This position is responsible for managing the headquarters building (38000sf) of Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit (SVdPD) five thrift stores warehouse Camp Ozanam Camp Stapleton including the operation and maintenance of the buildings grounds and internal systems.
Facilities Management
Ensure each facility is fully operational with all utilities functioning properly and efficiently.
Develop and maintain maintenance schedule to ensure each facility is addressed timely and consistently.
Develop and maintain Maintenance Log at each facility to report on all activities.
Develop/oversee annual preventative maintenance programs at each facility.
Schedule supervise and undertake (when needed) maintenance repair work and assist with checking installation and servicing equipment including forklifts.
Maintain all HVAC equipment including boilers rooftop units and VAV units.
Communicate with the Director of Retail Operations and Store Managers prior to any temporary closing or interruption of services due to upcoming repairs testing or improvements.
Oversee all repairs and maintenance by the Camps Facilities and Grounds Coordinator at Camp Ozanam and Camp Stapleton.
Develop implement and monitor housekeeping grounds maintenance (at headquarters) fire safety and security policies and procedures for each facility.
Prepare and update emergency procedures for each facility and communicate those procedures with staff at least quarterly.
Maintain exterior and interior signage at all facilities to promote SVdPD.
Maintain necessary supplies at each facility utilizing competitive pricing procurement.
Maintain retail fixtures and advise if any are fixtures are needed; three competitive cost estimates required.
Ensure compliance with all local state and federal regulations including OSHA and Workman Comp requirements.
Create and implement plan to reduce energy consumption.
Oversee maintenance of all grounds including debris removal which adheres to site maintenance standards; make recommendations for improvement expenditures.
Maintain ongoing communication with contractors vendors and facility managers regarding facility status.
Prepare annual and three-year site maintenance plan budgeting requirements and execution strategies.
Develop a Recommendation/Needs Analysis at each store and headquarters.
Develop and oversee three-year capital investment plan for all facilities and locations.
Additional tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Business Engineering or equivalent facilities experience
3-5 of experience in facilities management or equivalent related functions
Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations
Knowledge of general maintenance methods operating requirements and safety precautions related to facilities management
Must be well-organized detail-oriented and strong communicator
Effective project management project and written communication skills
Self-starter and able to function with minimal supervision
Strong procurement and negotiation skills

Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (Teams Zoom etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; specifically employees are required to use Outlook as well as Excel Word Power Point and Publisher.
Must be available 24/7 for possible building emergencies and security alarm notifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit walk stand talk hear drive and lift up to 70 lb. Manual work inside and/or outside is required at times.
Travel within metropolitan tri-county area and periodically to Lexington and Carsonville Michigan to Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit facilities city and county offices.
