What you will do:
A highly skilled healthcare professional who provides anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist.
- This role is responsible for the gross examination dissection and description of surgical specimens as well as assisting in postmortem examination specimen photograph and teaching support.
- The Pathologist Assistant ensures high quality specimen processing that supports accurate diagnosis and patient care.
What you will need:
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP-PA) required Pathologist Assistant by examination accepted by the State of Georgia or eligible.
- Education: Masters degree from a NAACLS- Accredited Pathologist Assistant program required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a practicing Pathologist Assistant preferred: New graduates from accredited programs considered.
- Special Qualifications: Proficiency in anatomic laboratory techniques including frozen section and permanent specimen preparation.
- Exceptions for requirements: Certification and Education exempt if qualified under CAP GEN.54750 nonwaived Testing Personnel Qualifications Qualified and served as a high complexity testing personnel in a CLIA certified laboratory as of December 282024.
