WHAT YOULL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Sanitation Lead supporting Health-Ades manufacturing facility in Torrance CA is responsible for executing and leading daily sanitation activities in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) to ensure a safe clean and food-safe manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on leadership on the floor supports compliance with food safety and quality programs and serves as the first point of escalation for sanitation-related issues.


  • Lead and support sanitation team members to ensure all cleaning and sanitation tasks are completed in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
  • Verify daily weekly and periodic sanitationtasksare completed documented and signed off per MSS requirements
  • Ensure sanitation activities are performed safely and that all team members use proper PPE and follow chemical safety procedures
  • Assign and prioritize sanitation tasks at the start of each shift to ensure full MSS coverage
  • Execute and support CIP COP and external sanitation activities per approvedprocedures
  • Ensuresanitation records logs and documentation are completed accurately and in real time
  • Support microbiological sampling pre-op inspections and sanitation verification activities in partnership with QA
  • Identify sanitation gaps recurring issues or MSS deviations and escalate to the Sanitation Supervisor or QA as appropriate
  • Assist with internal and external audits (GMP SQF FDA customer) by providing documentation and operational support
  • Ensure only approved sanitation chemicals and tools are used
  • Support onboarding and training of sanitation employees including:
    1. MSS expectations
    2. Chemical safety
    3. CIP/COP basics
    4. External cleaning standards
  • Manage environmental program
  • Write and update Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Controlled Documents Policy
  • Provide environmental awareness related to sanitation activities and communicate potential wastewater or discharge concerns to QA or site leadership
  • Maintain regular reliable attendance andsupportshift coverage as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 24 years of sanitation experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with CIP systems and manual sanitation processes
  • Ability to follow and execute sanitation procedures schedules and documentation requirements
  • Works effectively in team-based production-driven environments.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience acting as a lead trainer or senior sanitation technician (formal supervisory experience not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability
  • Ability to lead by example and work alongside sanitation team members
  • Clear verbal communication skills and comfort escalating issues when needed
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow schedules and priorities
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on food safety and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules or alternate shifts as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and sanitation documentation systems
  • Exposure to food safety programs such as GMPs SQF or FDA-regulated environments
  • Experience supporting pre-op inspections or sanitation verifications
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word Excel Outlook)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals water and food processing equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in wet physically demanding environments
  • Requires standing walking bending lifting and repetitive motion
  • PPE required during sanitation activities
