Department website: website: Ferraride de Andrade Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead the CD16a project Natural killer (NK) cells perform antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) following CD16a engagement. However CD16a can be shed from the cell surface prior engagement. We therefore generated a novel antibody that inhibits CD16a shedding to test the hypothesis that CD16a shedding is a homeostatic mechanism of immune regulation.
Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: The research project will generate new mechanistic insights into leukocyte biology and cancer immunology and it will help develop novel immunotherapies for solid and hematological cancers.
Qualifications
Technical Duties: The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for leading the research project as well as collaborating with colleagues. Specific technical duties include but are not restricted to: tissue culture leukocyte isolation from human blood samples flow cytometry qPCR maintaining of mouse colony mouse genotyping in vivoexperimentation ELISA and statistical analyses. Furthermore the postdoctoral fellow will be required to present laboratory meetings and institution-level seminars and write research articles and fellowships. Finally the postdoctoral fellow will help maintain the laboratory operations through equipment maintenance re-suppling and inventorying whenever needed.
Qualifications:
- PhD MD or MD/PhD
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee - UAW.
