Summary
A Product Owner is responsible for defining prioritizing and managing the product backlog to deliver high-value software solutions. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and development teams ensuring that products meet user needs align with business goals and are delivered efficiently using agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Define product vision strategy and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders and business leaders.
- Gather and analyze requirements from business users customers and market research.
- Create prioritize and maintain the product backlog to maximize business value.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
- Participate in sprint planning daily stand-ups backlog refinement and sprint reviews.
- Communicate progress risks and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership.
- Define acceptance criteria and validate product features before release.
- Conduct user testing gather feedback and iterate on product features.
- Ensure alignment of product features with business goals KPIs and customer needs.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers engineers QA teams and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to agile best practices within the organization.
- Stay informed of industry trends competitor products and emerging technologies to inform product strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Computer Science or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in product ownership product management or agile project delivery.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) and software development life cycles.
- Excellent communication collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into actionable user stories and backlog items.
Preferred Skills / Duties
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (Jira Confluence Trello).
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles and software development processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and prioritizing competing demands.
- Ability to measure product success using metrics KPIs and user feedback.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms SaaS products or enterprise applications is a plus
