The Team
At BC Corrections Adult Custody Division the Business and Finance Offices at North Fraser Pretrial Center and Fraser Regional Correctional Centre are well-established dedicated teams that play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the centres. Were a close-knit group consisting of a Director of Business and Finance a Business Office Manager and several experienced Financial Clerks. Together we handle a wide range of financial responsibilities including payroll inmate trust accounts accounts payable and receivable and other essential administrative functions. We work closely with correctional officers and administrative staff to ensure each facility operates smoothly and efficiently.
The Role
As a Financial Clerk youll handle a dynamic range of tasks rotating through payroll for over 200 employees accounts payable and inmate trust accounts. You will be responsible for processing and verifying documents for accuracy ensuring they meet all required policies and procedures. Youll make sure proper authorizations and supporting documentation are included before entering transactions into a computerized system. This variety keeps your workday engaging and provides valuable experience across different financial functions. The position offers a great work environment where youll have the support to grow and succeed while contributing to efficient reliable financial processes. Your focus on detail and accuracy will help maintain a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
