This role is responsible for supporting the delivery integration and optimization of mechanically attached fastener systems within a manufacturing and body shop environment. The position works cross-functionally to ensure equipment processes and suppliers meet quality timing and performance expectations throughout execution and launch phases.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure line integrators and mechanically attached fastener equipment suppliers deliver systems that meet company specifications across the North America region
Participate in throughput analysis and process optimization activities
Collaborate closely with Product Engineering Manufacturing Engineering material suppliers equipment suppliers and system integrators
Support teams in meeting vehicle program timelines while maintaining quality standards
Manage and maintain tracking documents to support program timing and deliverables
Support problem resolution between Product Engineering Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Manufacturing Operations
Ensure product and equipment conformance to design requirements
Provide onsite support during program execution and launch phases
Provide feedback and status updates to leadership as needed
Support integration startup and debugging of mechanically attached fastener equipment on the plant floor
Coordinate business process improvement and re-engineering initiatives
Report system status and performance at operating units as required
Optimize mechanically attached fastener systems to improve productivity cost efficiency and quality
Work with engineers skilled trades and management to execute cross-functional projects including cost and timing estimates
Support plant product program launches
Maintain a deep understanding of body shop mechanically attached fastener technologies and applications
Implement and support common mechanically attached fastener and inspection systems
Develop and maintain mechanically attached fastener technology standards
Provide technical direction and guidance to suppliers and internal plant teams
Conduct mechanically attached fastener equipment buyoffs
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in a technical or engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years of mechanically attached fastenerrelated experience or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent industry experience
Experience supporting body shop launches and working in a plant or manufacturing environment
Knowledge of safe operating procedures within a manufacturing setting
Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical issues
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook
