About the role Mō te tūranga mahi

Behavioural Economics focuses on understanding human behaviour and how it can be changed or improved particularly focusing on how individuals make decisions.

As the Advisor Fraud Behavioural Economics you will be a voice of behavioural change in the Fraud Prevention and Investigation team. Guided by our Senior Advisor you will help develop and deliver behavioural change interventions across ACC aimed at encouraging desirable behaviours to reduce instances of fraud and will include delivering facilitated training to colleagues who work directly with customers. You will also be a valuable contributor to behaviourally based pilots that focus on changing customer behaviour.

The role is ideally located in Wellington.

About youMōu

Ideally you will have a background in psychology and/or behavioural science or 2-3 years experience working with tricky customers in a frontline environment. You will also have:

  • Understanding of behavioural science theory (e.g. Introduction to Psychology) and how to apply this in a workplace setting.
  • Ability to contribute to development of behavioural interventions e.g. using frameworks such as COM-B.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills using a variety of styles.
  • Confidence to build collaborative networks across ACC.
  • Strong planning and facilitation skills virtual and in-person.
  • The ability to vary working styles to meet the needs of different situations and individuals.

Ideally but not necessarily:

  • Experience in applying behavioural science theory in a workplace setting.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of education and training materials.
  • An interest in best practice initiatives to manage fraud waste and abuse of the ACC Scheme.

The appointing salary for this role will sit between $85037 - $100043 and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution.
