Job Summary
Job Title: Telemetry Technician
Location: New York NY
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Shift: Evening Shift 3:00 PM 11:00 PM
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $46.32/hr
Estimated Weekly Gross: $1632.54
Weekly Stipend: $770.04
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring and advanced ECG interpretation in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong rhythm interpretation skills effective communication and the ability to respond quickly to emergent cardiac events.
Responsibilities
Provide continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring for assigned patients
Analyze ECG strips and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes
Initiate and assist during code situations including rhythm documentation
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with accurate electrode placement in multiple care settings
Respond appropriately to monitor alarms and troubleshoot telemetry equipment issues
Communicate clearly and professionally with nurses physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Enter and verify physician orders in the electronic system
Retrieve and report laboratory results to the charge nurse as appropriate
Ensure all documentation meets organizational standards and hospital policies
Safely operate and manage monitoring and medical equipment
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous Telemetry Technician experience in an acute care or hospital setting
Strong ECG rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition skills
Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
BLS certification
Prior experience in a high-volume telemetry or critical care monitoring environment
