Associated Students UCLA as a responsive student-centered organization provides innovative and excellent services programs products and facilities for the entire UCLA community. ASUCLA was created when the campus first opened in 1919. Even in the very early years ASUCLA meant student government student publications and student services such as a bookstore and cafeteria. Today ASUCLA has evolved into a four-part organization. These four entities collectively make up the largest student association in the country. The four entities are: - Undergraduate Students Association elected representatives of the undergraduate student body.
- Graduate Students Association elected representatives of the graduate student body.
- Student Media this includes the Daily Bruin the Bruin Life Yearbook and seven different magazines.

Maintenance Manager Salary Range: $80000- 85000 Department: Facilities Maintenance Summary of Key Responsibilities: The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation maintenance safety and efficiency of all facilities and physical assets. This role ensures buildings systems and grounds are maintained to high standards of reliability safety and cost-effectiveness while supporting organizational goals related to energy efficiency sustainability budget control and staff development. Key Responsibilities Daily Operations & Facility Management Oversee daily maintenance operations for buildings grounds and infrastructure including HVAC electrical plumbing mechanical systems and structural components Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance programs are executed effectively and on schedule Coordinate inspections repairs upgrades and emergency response activities Maintain compliance with all applicable safety environmental and regulatory requirements (OSHA fire codes local/state regulations) Serve as the primary point of contact for facility repairs and campus phone service requests Manage vendor relationships and work with the Director of Business Services on contracts and service agreements to ensure quality and cost efficiency Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities work orders inspections and asset lifecycles Energy Management & Cost Savings Work with the Director of Facilities to develop and implement energy management strategies to reduce utility costs and environmental impact Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements Lead or support sustainability initiatives including energy audits equipment upgrades and building automation optimization Track and report energy performance metrics and cost savings Develop manage and monitor the utilities budget. Recommend capital improvements that improve efficiency reliability and long-term operational value Budgeting & Financial Oversight Develop manage and monitor the facilities maintenance operating and capital budgets Forecast maintenance costs and plan for long-term asset replacement and lifecycle management Evaluate expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary goals Review invoices approve expenditures and control costs without compromising safety or quality Prepare reports on budget performance cost savings initiatives and assistant the Director of Facilities with capital planning Staff Leadership & Supervision Recruit train schedule supervise and evaluate maintenance staff Assign work priorities and ensure proper staffing coverage for daily operations and emergency response Foster a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement Provide coaching technical guidance and professional development opportunities Conduct performance reviews and support career growth within the team Safety Compliance & Risk Management Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment Coordinate with the Division Manager for Security and Loss Prevention to conduct regular safety inspections and audits Ensure proper documentation for compliance and inspections Ensure that all required and recommended staff trainings are completed by the due dates Lead incident investigations and corrective action planning for the facilities maintenance department Project Management & Capital Improvements Collaborate and assist the Director of Facilities on all remodels renovations and upgrades projects for the various departments of the Association which include: - Plan manage and oversee facilities-related projects
- Lead small- to medium-scale capital and deferred maintenance projects from concept through completion including scope development scheduling budgeting and closeout
- Coordinate with campus stakeholders to align project timelines with academic calendars and major campus events
- Develop project budgets track expenditures and ensure projects are delivered on time and within approved financial parameters
- Manage design professionals contractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with campus standards safety requirements and collective bargaining agreements
- Review construction documents schedules and change orders to ensure quality constructability and cost control
- Minimize disruptions to student services and maintain continuity of operations during construction and renovation activities
- Maintain project documentation reporting status updates to leadership and supporting post-project evaluations
Qualifications: Associate or Bachelors degree in Facilities Management Engineering Construction Management or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facilities or maintenance management Proven experience managing maintenance staff and external contractors Experience with working with Unions Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC electrical plumbing mechanical) Experience developing and managing budgets Demonstrated ability to implement preventive maintenance and energy efficiency programs Proficiency with CMMS work order systems and Microsoft Office tools Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements: Ability to walk facilities and grounds climb ladders and access mechanical spaces as needed Ability to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds Frequent walking sitting standing bending stooping reaching climbing pulling pushing Supervises: Directly supervises career and part-time/student staff.
