Job Description
As a Manufacturing Technical Program Manager the candidate will be responsible for bringing new
products from engineering to manufacturing and production managing multiple large-scale
programs from prototype through production validation. This is an individual contributor role. You
will be a key member of the development team and you will be the main interface to consult on
issues with local and international operations teams within customer and our Contract Manufacturing
(CM) teams. You will inspect suppliers manufacturing sites to ensure customers requirements are
met and drive with customer internal teams for closed-loop CAPA and feedback.
The Manufacturing Technical Program Manager will:
- Provide manufacturing requirements to suppliers and drive the suppliers to meet the
requirements.
- Lead suppliers to inspect the manufacturing system to ensure customers requirements are met and
provide feedback to customer and CM partners.
- Drive the supplier to work within Operations Hardware and Software engineering departments
to implement and optimize manufacturing first-pass yields and efficiency from prototype through
early PVT build.
- Provide consultation to customer internal departments and suppliers on critical issues.
- Support troubleshooting on manufacturing design issues and testing issues upon request from
suppliers.
- Bridge the gap from supplier to customer by supporting development builds and production upon
escalation.
- Work independently on complex problems and provide updates to customer leadership.
- Work to strategically influence multiple core and product teams and functions. Focus efforts to
drive suppliers to improve FATP processes across product categories.
- Ensure technical readiness for product ramp and serve as technical lead/advisor to new System
Technical Program Managers and Product Operations Program Managers.
- Drive suppliers to develop manufacturing processes including defining fixture requirement
critical dimensions on parts and critical requirements in assembling.
- Drive suppliers to work with the design engineering team to identify and escalate manufacturing
challenges by enforcing DFM DFA and DFS principles.
- Drive suppliers to solve all factory-related operational issues related to SMT and final assembly
processes during pre-production builds; ensure effective closure to enable operational success of
the new product introduction cycle and put products into mass production.
- Lead the manufacturing readiness for production and hand over to sustaining manufacturing
partners.
- Drive suppliers to develop and execute equipment requirement plans to support product
manufacturing and testing.
- Provide working summaries and working plans and identify areas for improvement to customer
leadership.
- Support initiatives and mechanisms to manage ultra-low engagement programs management with
efficiency
Basic Qualifications
- 6 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with manufacturing suppliers
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams building processes and
coordinating release schedules
- Bachelors degree or above in engineering
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to
leadership
- Experience auditing suppliers manufacturing systems and providing findings to drive
improvements
- Experience managing multiple programs in different locations
