Role Definition
This role will support the advancement of automation projects across Caterpillars Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate is expected to have solid experience in computer vision applications including but not limited to visual measurement defect detection in manufacturing environments OCR / text recognition for quality control and product traceability etc.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Deliver and support AI-based inspection projects in manufacturing environments.
- Develop and deploy computer vision solutions for defect detection visual measurement and OCR applications.
- Support system integration with automation equipment and quality/traceability systems.
- Optimize model performance and ensure stable operation in production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing quality and automation teams to drive project success.
Key Requirements
- Bachelors degree or above in Computer Science Automation Electrical Engineering Artificial Intelligence or a related technical field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in AI vision inspection industrial automation or manufacturing-related AI projects.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end industrial vision system architecture with hands-on experience in camera lens and lighting selection and setup.
- Proficient in image acquisition and calibration processes.
- Ability to independently deploy end-to-end AI vision inspection solutions from data collection and model training to system deployment in production environments.
- Strong Python programming skills with hands-on experience using mainstream AI / machine learning frameworks.
- Capable of integrating AI model outputs with downstream systems enabling deployment within business systems or industrial applications.
- Demonstrated project management capability including coordination across functions and delivery against project timelines.
Additional Information:
The position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
