Job Summary
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager Emergency Department to lead a newly renovated and expanded Emergency Department. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader with emergency nursing expertise and demonstrated management experience who is passionate about patient safety quality outcomes and team development.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring safe high-quality age-appropriate patient care while fostering a culture of teamwork accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the Emergency Department
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory safety and quality standards including National Patient Safety Goals
- Monitor departmental budgets productivity staffing levels overtime and premium pay utilization
- Serve as a role model advisor and clinical resource to staff and interdisciplinary teams
Staff Management & Development

Hire onboard mentor and retain nursing staff
- Ensure all staff competencies certifications and education requirements are completed
- Manage performance provide coaching and address disciplinary actions when necessary

Foster an inclusive supportive and collaborative work environment
Patient Care & Experience

Champion exceptional patient and family experiences

Support evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives

Ensure rapid response to emergent and critical patient situations
Resource Stewardship

Ensure accurate payroll and staffing alignment

Act as a responsible steward of organizational resources
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a CCNE-accredited program
-
Active Maryland RN License (MBON)
-
5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience

1 year of leadership or supervisory experience

BLS (AHA) Required
-
ACLS & PALS (AHA) Required
Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree (MSN MHA MBA MA or MS)

National nursing certification (preferred within 1 year of hire)

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (per unit guidelines
