Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our senior leadership team as Business Unit Controller for our Lasers business unit. This high-profile role will partner closely with executives to drive strategic financial and business initiatives. Working with the global Finance team you will manage all aspects of financial close and forecasting processes..

Your role will be to closely partner with the General Manager to provide critical support for the business decision supporting the strategy and growth targets

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Drive growth and improve profitability of the Business Unit in close collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Lead all forecasting and analysis activities including: Annual Plan of Record Quarterly and Monthly Business Reviews Strategic Planning process.
  • Optimize finance processes and structure using the ESSA framework (Eliminate Simplify Standardize Automate).
  • Develop analyze and interpret financial data to evaluate operating results against budget and profitability metrics.
  • Provide analytical insights assess risks and guide senior leadership in strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute creative insights to key business processes including Product Line Profitability Low Margin Reviews Large Customer Deal Reviews cost management
  • Support the Product Management team to make business decisions related to Product Life Cycle
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global finance team across the U.S. Europe and Asia.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance on various projects as needed.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 8 years of progressive finance experience preferably in photonics or semiconductor industries with experience to work across different countries. Proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced high-growth and evolving environment. Demonstrated success in a collaborative matrixed organization with measurable business impact.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Lead a Finance team across several countries
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive strategic decisions.
  • Proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Perform activities such as sitting standing or typing for extended periods of time
  • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information
  • The ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Operates in a professional office environment
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually average

  • Access to sensitive and confidential business systems and software personally identifying information the companys financial information and/or the ability to maintain physical security and safety.

This position is hybrid out of our facility in Irvine. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Pay Range: $142100 - $263900 USD Annual per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position based on a wide range of factors including qualifications experience and training operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in an amount to be determined by MKS or as applicable.
