Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic organised and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Basingstoke starting as soon as possible. This role provides an exciting opportunity to teach pupils in Years 1 and 2 helping them build strong foundations in literacy numeracy and personal development.

The school has a strong ethos of inclusion collaboration and high expectations for pupils and staff. Teachers work closely together to create engaging and stimulating learning experiences. Leadership is approachable and committed to professional development and staff wellbeing.


The Role

As a KS1 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across all subjects ensuring learning is differentiated to meet the needs of all pupils. You will track progress identify gaps and implement strategies to support pupil achievement. Encouraging independence resilience and positive learning behaviours will be central to your classroom practice.

You will work closely with teaching assistants Key Stage 1 colleagues and senior leaders to maintain high standards and consistency across the phase. Communication with parents and carers is also a key aspect of the role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

  • Monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform planning

  • Differentiate learning to support all pupils including SEND and EAL learners

  • Create a structured inclusive and engaging classroom environment

  • Promote positive behaviour independence and confidence

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers

  • Participate in staff meetings planning and professional development


Who Were Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching Key Stage 1

  • Be confident delivering the curriculum and assessment strategies

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be reflective adaptable and proactive

  • Show a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding

  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will receive mentoring.
