What Youll Do

The incumbent serves as the primary functional lead and end user support expert for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems such as PeopleSoft Financial Supply chain Management (FSCM)-MRP and SAP that are critical to manufacturing operations at Pantex. This position requires mastery of these systems to provide advanced troubleshooting analyze business processes for improvement and develop and deliver comprehensive user training and documentation. The employee acts as the main point of contact for complex system issues ensuring their effective resolution to maintain operational efficiency.

The employee is responsible for planning and executing projects related to system analysis process improvement and software quality assurance. This involves identifying opportunities to enhance system performance developing functional requirements for modifications and creating test cases to validate changes. The work is essential for ensuring the effective utilization of ERP/MRP systems directly impacting the productivity and accuracy of manufacturing operations and enabling the organization to meet its core production goals.

Major Duties:

  • Analyze business operations (e.g. engineering manufacturing planning supply chain etc.) to gather requirements to develop logical processes for meeting the requirements.
  • Make recommendations for software and/or business process modifications to enhance all aspects of production operations.
  • Document software and system modifications identify new/modified requirements construct workflow charts and diagrams develop mock screenshots document business processing rules identify security role requirements etc.
  • Setup detailed positive and negative test cases and conduct software and regression testing (manual and/or automated) for making sure software systems perform as required.
  • Create software quality assurance documentation including but not limited to test cases user documentation and training materials for rollout of software changes.
  • Maintain software product backlog of defects and enhancements working with Information Technology (IT) software developers and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve and document resolution of defects or implementation of enhancements.
  • Provide customer support to resolve user and/or system issues which may include working with IT developers to implement Structured Query Language ( SQL) data fixes to maintain continuity of operations.
  • Develop new concepts techniques and standards to improve software and production operations to facilitate mission delivery enhance safety security quality and generate cost efficiencies.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering/science discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • OR Masterss of Science Degree.
  • OR PhD.
  • OR Applicants without a bachelors degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 10 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Masters degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
  • Experience/formal training in business analysis.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP) software experience or ability to develop in-depth understanding and knowledge of the manufacturing software and software testing concepts.
  • Familiarity with software testing/automated testing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft and/or SAP.
  • Familiarity with the usage and development of SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with Agile Project Management.
  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels in the organization and across the plant.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
