Provides regional leadership in up-to-date technology and application training for Extension personnel ensuring staff remain current on emerging software tools and electronic communication methods. Develops and delivers training and technical support across 31 counties the region Lone Oaks Farm and AgResearch and Education Centers including basic networking web development and technology planning. Assists offices and centers with evaluating technology needs implementing solutions and installing or supporting computers printers and related equipment to ensure efficient and modern operations.
Develop and maintain a regional training plan approved by the Regional Director. Train Extension personnel in computer applications and technology according to the plan and incorporate new and current technology into programs.
Keep up to date and provide training to staff on new and cutting-edge software applications.
Help create technology solutions for Extension programs in offices in the Western Region.
Have a basic knowledge of networks.
Provide training to staff in basic web development.
Assist in determining computer needs and more efficient use of computers and computer programs.
Actively participates in staff conferences to share technology experiences and provide in-service training to Extension staff.
Provide leadership for electronic communications in the Western Region.
