We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Mentor Coordinator. Our focus is to facilitate recovery reinforce hope and support lifestyle change with prisoners engaging with our service.
With this role youll be working as part of The Substance Misuse Team that oversees West Kent Prisons Cluster HMP Rochester HMP Cookham Wood HMP Maidstone and HMP East Sutton Park.
No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual so being flexible curious and a good listener are key.
The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and obtain HMPPS security clearance.

Full Time Salary Range :27861.26 - 32002.35 Dependent on experience
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
* Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

  • Recruit train and support a diverse range of peer mentors throughout the prison estate.
  • Managing a volunteer recruitment and support strategy within the service.
  • Work closely with Healthcare Prison Security and Offender Management Unit to ensure robust recruitment/selection and risk management processes are in place.
  • Oversee supply of Peer Mentor uniform requirements on a rolling basis.
  • Administration of the detail to ensure coordination of Peer Mentor involvement in Inductions and co-facilitation of interventions.

About You:

  • Experience of working within a prison/criminal justice setting
  • Sensitivity in working with complex and diverse cultural issues
