About the Position

Dexis is recruiting a Legislative and Public Affairs Analyst to support anticipated programming with the Department of War (DoW). This opportunity will provide program support policy support and technical assistance services to support Counterdrug (CD)/Counter-Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC)/Counter-Threat Finance (CTF) mission needs of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) The Joint Staff Combatant Commands (CCMDs) Military Departments and Defense Agencies.

This positionis contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze congressional legislation and USG policies and regulatory requirements that mayimpactor relate toDoWand U.S. interagency partners efforts to counter global drug trafficking and other illicit threat network activities that threaten U.S. national security interests.
  • Analyze and conduct assessments ofDoWlegislative proposals for content technical accuracy supporting justification and compliance with policy and guidance that involve or relate toDoWefforts to counter illicit threat network activities.
  • Prepare for USG personnel review congressional notification packages supporting execution ofDoWCD/CTOC/CTF programs.

Qualifications

  • ActiveTop Secretclearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
  • Possessa masters degree from an accredited college/university in a relevant field of study.
  • Possess ten (10) years experience providing services to senior general/flag officer ranks and/or SES levels within theDoW other government agencies or industry corporate equivalents and will be expected to perform at the level of a mid-range GS-15 equivalent.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of U.S. legislative processes andDoWauthorities in order to provide background information and analyses required forDoWpersonnel to draft proposed changes to governing legislation prepare congressional testimony and responses to congressional correspondence and draft agency responses to audit reports from theDoWInspector General the Government Accountability Office and other federal oversight entities.
  • Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to translate highly technical information into plain language for effective communication withDoWand other USG staff in the performance of all dutiestasksand services.
  • Operate independently proactively manage requirements and require minimal government direction to achieve desired outcomes.
