Job Summary/Purpose:

Responsible for the establishment of accurate technical and quality requirements performance of Commercial Grade Dedication evaluations and development of Item Equivalency Evaluations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Developing Equivalency Evaluations to determine suitable replacement parts and components to address obsolete or unavailable items.
  • Performing Parts Interchangeability Evaluations for replacement material which is interchangeable with original plant equipment with no change to form fit or function.
  • Performing technical evaluations and reviews of procurement documents.
  • Establishing and utilizing commercial grade dedications to support procurement activities.
  • Evaluating and documenting the disposition of technical discrepancies identified during the procurement process receipt inspection process and inventory control process.
  • Interfacing with internal and external groups on procurement related activities as needed (e.g. supplier audit or Commercial Grade Survey checklists establishing the technical and quality requirements of an item to be procured interpretation of codes or standards etc.).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum experience/education required of the position:

  • Procurement Engineering Specialist II:Bachelors degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline and minimum 1 years of procurement engineering experience OR in lieu of a degree minimum 5 years of equivalent related experience.
  • Procurement Engineering Specialist III:Bachelors degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline and minimum 3 years of procurement engineering experience OR in lieu of a degree minimum 7 years of equivalent related experience.
  • Procurement Engineering Specialist Sr:Bachelors degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline and minimum 6 years of procurement engineering experience with at least four (4) years supporting the nuclear energy industry OR in lieu of a degree minimum 10 years of equivalent related experience.
  • Procurement Engineering Specialist Sr Lead:Bachelors degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline and minimum 8 years of procurement engineering experience with at least six (6) years supporting the nuclear energy industry OR in lieu of a degree minimum 12 years of equivalent related experience

Preferred experience for this position:

  • Electrical experience or Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred for this position.
  • Instrumentation & Controls experience.
  • 2 Years of Procurement Engineering experience.
  • Technical mastery of engineering principles in depth knowledge of procedures programs and standards in responsible areas.
  • Performance and development of Commercial Grade Dedication evaluations.

Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Knowledge of nuclear plant technology systems and components.
  • Ability to work with all disciplines (mechanical electrical instrumentation and controls) manufacturers and suppliers including contractors.
  • Good problem solving and change-management skills.
  • Ability to plan organize and prioritize work for timely and accurate completion.
  • Communicates technical information concepts and ideas verbally and in writing.

Any certificates licenses etc. required of the position:

Professional Engineering License and/or SRO License or Certification are helpful.
