Position Title: Instructional Coach
Reports to: Principal
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: ScholarMade Achievement Place

Position Summary:

The Instructional Coach at ScholarMade Achievement Place will play a critical role in supporting teachers in grades 3-8 focusing on Math Science and English Language Arts (ELA). The coach will collaborate with teachers to enhance instructional practices improve student outcomes and ensure alignment with state standards and the schools personalized learning and emotional intelligence model. The ideal candidate will have strong instructional expertise experience working with diverse student populations and a passion for developing teachers capacity in high-quality data-driven instruction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Support:
    • Collaborate with Math Science and ELA teachers to plan and implement effective instructional strategies that align with Arkansas state standards ScholarMades Achievement Guide and personalized learning objectives.
    • Support teachers in analyzing student data (formative and summative assessments) to inform instructional planning and interventions.
    • Model effective teaching strategies and provide feedback through classroom observations co-teaching and demonstration lessons.
    • Guide teachers in the development of lesson plans assessments and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
    • Ensure that literacy and numeracy skills are reinforced across all subject areas including integrating reading and math skills into Science instruction.
    • Provide direct instructionals support to a caseload of students.
  • Professional Development:
    • Design and facilitate professional development sessions for teachers in alignment with school goals focusing on effective teaching strategies curriculum implementation and the use of instructional technology.
    • Lead collaborative planning meetings and professional learning communities (PLCs) to support teacher growth in content knowledge pedagogy and classroom management.
    • Provide individual coaching and mentoring for novice and experienced teachers to build capacity and improve instructional practice.
  • Data-Driven Instruction:
    • Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to develop and track progress-monitoring tools ensuring teachers use data to target instruction and improve student achievement.
    • Support teachers in identifying and implementing Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions for students requiring additional academic support.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of instructional programs and suggest necessary adjustments to instruction based on student performance data.
  • Curriculum and Assessment:
    • Assist teachers in aligning curriculum resources such as Eureka Math Khan Academy Generation Genius and IXL with state standards and ScholarMades academic goals.
    • Support the implementation of weekly assessments corrective instruction and small group instruction strategies to address gaps in student learning.
    • Help teachers implement project-based learning particularly for Science instruction to deepen understanding and application of academic skills.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Serve as a key member of the instructional leadership team working closely with school administrators academic facilitators and reading interventionists to drive student success.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging reflective practice and a growth mindset among staff.
    • Work with leadership to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and recommend necessary changes to improve teacher performance and student outcomes.



Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Education Curriculum & Instruction or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of teaching experience with demonstrated success in core subject instruction (preferably in grades 3-8).
    • Experience coaching or mentoring teachers is strongly preferred.
    • Experience in urban education and working with underprivileged or diverse student populations is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Deep understanding of Arkansas State Standards for Math Science and ELA along with proven success in raising student achievement.
    • Expertise in data-driven instruction and the ability to analyze and use data to support teaching and learning.
    • Strong communication collaboration and leadership skills with the ability to build positive relationships with teachers and school leaders.
    • Ability to model effective instructional strategies mentor teachers and provide meaningful feedback to promote teacher growth.
