A hospital in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join an Inpatient Surgical Unit within a Medical-Surgical department. This role is ideal for nurses who are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and committed to delivering safe high-quality post-surgical and medical care.
Unit & Work Environment
Inpatient Surgical Unit within a Med-Surg floor
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Up to 7:1
500 bed Joint Commissionaccredited acute care hospital
Comprehensive surgical cardiac stroke oncology and neurosciences services
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe patient-centered nursing care to post-operative and medical-surgical patients
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications treatments and therapies per provider orders
Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition
Educate patients and families on post-surgical care medications and recovery expectations
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
Document nursing care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
Advocate for patients families and caregivers to ensure optimal outcomes
Required Qualifications
Active Florida RN license or approved multistate compact license
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) required prior to start
NIH Stroke Scale required within 30 days of hire
Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
