Job Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech therapy services to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role involves evaluating and treating patients with various conditions including stroke spinal cord injuries brain injuries neurological disorders orthopedic conditions and amputations. The SLP works as part of an interdisciplinary team to help patients regain communication and swallowing skills.
Location:Anchorage Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient evaluations to assess speech language cognitive and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide therapy to improve communication cognitive and swallowing skills.
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- BLS certification
- NBCOT certification
- Active Alaska Speech Language Pathology license
- Acute Rehab Facility Experience
- Experience with Per User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) experience
Special Considerations:
- Some weekend work is required approximately 2 weekend days per month.
- Traveler can be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks.
Scheduling:
- 5x8 Days (40 hours per week)
- Some weekends required
- Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks
