The Senior Site Engineer (Reinforced Concrete & Piling) is responsible for the execution of reinforced concrete (RC) works and deep foundations (piles) on residential and/or commercial building projects in Abidjan Côte dIvoire.
The role covers the full cycle from preparation to execution ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications high-quality workmanship site safety and adherence to project timelines. The position requires strong on-site coordination anticipation of risks and practical problem-solving capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and analyze drawings technical details construction methods phasing and site constraints.
- Prepare execution methods for RC works and piling (formwork reinforcement concreting lifting access and safety).
- Ensure availability of resources: manpower formwork systems shoring reinforcement steel concrete and consumables.
- Organize site logistics including storage areas circulation crane/pump positioning pouring zones and safety measures.
- Supervise RC works: setting-out formwork reinforcement embeds inserts concreting curing and stripping.
- Control quality and compliance: dimensions cover levels verticality tolerances and surface finish.
- Enforce hold points and procedures prior to concreting and formwork removal.
- Monitor piling works: mobilization setting-out drilling or driving reinforcement cages and concreting.
- Verify piling parameters such as depth diameter verticality concrete volumes continuity and traceability.
- Coordinate interfaces between RC works piling MEP architecture façades waterproofing and external works.
- Anticipate and resolve clashes related to openings sleeves inserts and structural interfaces.
- Track daily progress against the schedule and propose recovery plans when required.
- Monitor productivity and optimize work sequences and execution rates.
- Prepare daily and weekly site reports covering progress manpower deliveries risks quality HSE and action plans.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5 to 10 years of site execution experience preferably in reinforced concrete structures and deep foundations/piling.
- Strong knowledge of RC execution formwork and reinforcement detailing tolerances and piling control.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and construction interfaces on active sites.
- Proficiency in Excel (mandatory); AutoCAD and MS Project are an advantage.
- Strong site presence leadership skills attention to detail and commitment to quality and deadlines.
- Practical problem-solver with clear communication and strong coordination skills.
- Good command of French.
