We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join ourteamin Cedar Rapids IA and contribute to the development offlight controlproducts for the next generation of business regional militaryand air-transportfixed and rotary wing platforms. Typical functions to implement include butarentlimited toflight guidance autothrottle autopilotmaintenanceandautolandsystems. This internshiprepresentsa great opportunityto apply your software engineering skills to actual real-time embedded systems with critical safety requirements.

What You Will Do:

Defineand review software requirements for flight control systems including interface requirements.

Developand implementsoftwarearchitecture and designfrom parent requirements.

Implementcontrol algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems. Thisincludeswritinghand-codeand integrating auto-generated code from MATLAB Simulink /Stateflowmodels into a software application.

Conductrequirements-based testing of flight controlssoftware

Support product certification by performing DO-178B/C compliant development.

Mentor with experienced software engineers and learn about career opportunities in Flight Controls

Qualifications You Must Have:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing aBachelorsor advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience with object-orientedandembedded software development

Familiarity with software requirement and configuration managementprinciples or tools.

Experience with MATLAB/Simulink

The salary range for this role is 37000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
