What You Will Be Working On:

The Corporate Finance Intern is responsible for supporting the Corporate Finance function including analyzing and executing strategic capital markets activities supporting the companys investor relations and marketing efforts and performing ad-hoc financial analyses and recommendations to support the companys various strategic initiatives. The role involves significant interaction with the executive leadership team corporate finance department and key external constituents.

Capital Markets Function

• Support the Corporate Finance function on strategy and execution of the capital markets transactions such as equity and debt offerings At-the-Market ATM program liability management and other initiatives including developing presentation materials talking points investor call scripts and working with outside counsel lenders and banking relationships.
• Help maintain the companys WACC models and track cost of capital trends.
• Analyze and evaluate alternative capital-raising opportunities.
• Help update capital markets dashboard peer comp sheets etc. on a recurring basis to track relevant capital markets and financial metrics and macroeconomic indicators to support strategic capital markets decisions.
• Conduct benchmarking analysis (performance metrics financial disclosures investor materials capital structure and capital raising strategies) and make recommendations on industry best practices.
• Work alongside team to prepare ad hoc financial / capital markets analyses for the corporate finance and/or executive team.
• Organize synthesize and help recommend capital raising ideas (structure timing size etc.) based on capital markets outlook the companys strategic objectives and themes aggregated through discussions with investment banker product specialists.
• Help update and maintain due diligence Q&A document for quarterly ATM bringdown as well as on an as-needed basis in conjunction with capital raising activity.
• Help prepare Corporate Finance and Capital Markets related materials for monthly and quarterly Board of Directors meetings and Audit Committee meetings (presentations memorandums strategic updates).

Investor Relations Function

• Support the companys investor relations efforts on an as-needed basis working in tandem with the companys investor relations and corporate finance team.
• Work with capital markets and investor relations team members to maintain and update Earnings Q&A documents.
• Support efforts in prepping for a potential Investor Day event.
• Analyze peer earnings results and metrics.
• Help prepare and update the companys Investor Presentation decks for publication to the Investor Relations site.
• Help with marketing and communications efforts for the Companys branding initiatives.

Other Strategic Initiatives

• Participate in developing defining and executing strategic partnership opportunities including business development partner due diligence financial analysis and models and presentation materials.
• Help with the tracking and reporting of the companys credit investment portfolio and perform analyses involving new and existing investments.
• Support the companys private capital and strategic partnership initiatives.
• Perform ad-hoc strategic financial analyses and recommendations in support of strategic growth initiatives of the company

What You Need to Be Successful:

We are looking for a rising senior with a GPA of 3.5 or higher pursuing a degree in Economics Finance Business or related field to join our Corporate Finance team.

• Proactive curiosity of capital markets related concepts and related constituents
• Strong financial acumen a quantitative mindset and stout attention to detail
• Proactive industrious and intellectually curious
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to brainstorm strategize and execute in ambiguous situations
• Desire to take initiative and identify opportunities to improve processes and status quo
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (Bloomberg and SNL Financial data tools optional)
• Interest in and curiosity for the REIT industry

The hourly compensation for this role is in the range of $21.00 - $25.00. Hourly rate determined by the candidates skills experience knowledge education and abilities.
