About the Role:
As a Senior Network Management Systems Consultant you will play a key role in the detailed technical design of OSS/NMS capabilities supporting the Lightspeed LEO network. This is a highly technical hands-on role focused on designing YANG models for configuration and notifications building automation workflows and defining telemetry and monitoring requirements to enhance operational visibility and service will create interface specifications data models and validation criteria while collaborating with senior team members and coordinating integrations with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with network standards performance requirements and operational needs.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:
- Security clearance: Government of Canada Secret (GCP) and Controlled Goods
- 6 to 10 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking protocols
- Expertise in YANG modeling gRPC gNMI gNOI gNSI
- Experience designing network management systems using L2/L3 protocols
- Programming skills in modern C (C14) Go and/or Python 3.x
- Experience with TDD and BDD testing methodologies
- Development on Linux using containers and Kubernetes orchestration in cloud environments
- Knowledge of data formats and standards: Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) XML JSON (IETF) Jinja2 templating
- Experience with NMS/OSS platforms such as Netcracker Digital OSS ONAP Ciena Blue Planet or Amdocs
Network Protocols & Standards
- Layer 3: IP MPLS SR-MPLS
- Layer 2: Ethernet VLAN STP LACP
- Standards: MEF TMF
Objectives & Deliverables
- Design and deploy real-time network monitoring solutions including continuous telemetry event/alert pipelines correlation logic and operational dashboards
- Develop and maintain service provisioning automation validation rollback and compliance verification using Python or Go fully integrated into CI/CD pipelines
- Create automated scripts and tools to validate NMS/EMS functionality including incident management performance monitoring topology synchronization and activation workflows
- Ensure seamless OSS/NMS integration with existing systems and work closely with vendors to ensure standards compliance
- Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation including OSS/NMS requirements configurations operational processes and runbooks
- Apply OSS security best practices including gNSI authentication and authorization secrets management certificates RBAC auditing and data protection
Key Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the technical design of network management systems and service automation
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to meet standards and performance objectives
- Review and approve design documents strategies test plans and automation scripts
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to OSS/NMS implementations and network operations
